The past 3-5 years have demonstrated an evolving set of challenges for manufacturers in a number of areas.
Upstate Defense is about knocking down these challenges in the microelectronics industry, particularly in delivery of products and components for the Defense Industrial Base of Upstate New York while building opportunities for the communities of the region.
Our approach to this is to attack the following areas:
Development of a qualified and diverse talent pool
Grow innovation in microelectronics product and manufacturing capability
Mitigate risks in manufacturers’ supply chain to improve on time delivery with high quality materials and components
Support for the Upstate Defense consortium is provided through a grant from the U.S. Department of Defense Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation (OLDCC) as part of the Defense Manufacturing Community Support Program (DMCSP).
